Charlie MacArthur – Earn Your Turns: Uphill Skiing 101
Earn Your Turns: Uphill Skiing 101
It’s time to join the in-bounds ski touring movement. Learn how to earn your turns by skinning up and—yes!—skiing down at your local resort. SKI Magazine and the Professional Ski Instructors of America created the online course Earn Your Turns: Uphill Skiing 101, which covers the essential gear, skills, and strategies for inbounds adventures. Pro instructor and uphilling expert Charlie MacArthur will teach you everything you need to know to unlock the beauty and fun of skiing uphill.
What You’ll Learn:
Find out why skiers are flocking to in-bounds ski touring—and learn how to do it. SKI and PSIA will teach you how to choose touring skis and boots, tech bindings, climbing skins, and other gear, plus how it all works. You’ll also learn how to dress appropriately for going up and down; how to find and choose terrain at your local ski area; how to tackle a range of slopes; how to stride efficiently and with good posture; how to transition between up and down; plus how to fuel and hydrate.
How This Course Works?
We know you have a busy schedule, so we’ve designed this course to be taken at your own pace. You’ll learn through a variety of interactive formats, including video instruction, photo descriptions, and more. Each session builds on the last, and, while we’ve designed the course in six parts, you can take it as quickly or as slowly as you want. Plus, once you purchase the course, the lessons are yours forever.
